Why the “Whitewashed Sepulcher” film was shelved

Due to a number of unfortunate events, the tough decision to shelve “Whitewashed Sepulcher” was made by the Director, Producer, and crew.  After carefully examining footage, certain performances, and schedules, all options were considered and weighed.

The original plan was to simply wait a year, raise funds, give everybody a break, and come back to it. The ultimate goal was to wait and create a much better product in the end. The Producer and Director’s personal standards for this film were set very high, and what was captured up to that point had too many faults. This was not a product we all could have been proud of. So we would wait.

The lead actor and another founding member of New Thought Pictures disagreed with the decision to halt production, and decided to fight the Director and Producer for the rights to continue the film. This forced cast and crew to “choose sides” and a created huge political mess. As such, the film might have been made, but given the recent political events (and subsequent intellectual property disputes) the project may never come together after all.
